Wild Blue Phlox
Phlox divaricata

Wild Blue Phlox (Phlox divaricata) is native to rich, moist woodlands. A perennial wildflower growing 8-12 inches tall, its clusters of pale violet-blue flowers bloom in May and June. Wild Blue Phlox prefers high shade (filtered sunlight), but with adequate moisture and rich soil it will tolerate more sunshine.

Individual plants will form large clumps under favorable conditions. Wild Blue Phlox will self-sow to form natural drifts in shady areas. Use this plant in flower borders, wildflower and rock gardens, or along woodland trails.
