Wild Geranium
Geranium maculatum

Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum) occurs in moist, open woodlands and along shaded roadsides. Growing 1-2 feet tall, this perennial has attractive dark green foliage and lavender-pink flowers from May into June.

Several species of butterflies visit the flowers for nectar. Thriving in light shade, Wild Geranium is an attractive accent plant. Use individual plants or plant in small clusters or larger drifts and colonies. When planted thickly, Wild Geranium is a suitable ground cover for lightly shaded areas.
